2:01Now PlayingA meeting between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Oval Office on Friday grew contentious, with Trump telling Zelenskyy that "you're not acting at all thankful" for the support Ukraine received from the United States. Trump also accused Zelenskyy of being disrespectful to the United States and told him, "you're gambling with World War III."
Zelenskyy came to Washington to sign a deal that would give the United States access to Ukrainian rare earth and critical minerals. Trump had said the leaders would sign it at an afternoon event at the White House.
In a social media post after the heated meeting, Trump said he has “determined that President Zelenskyy is not ready for peace.”
President Zelenskyy and his delegation left the White House without signing a deal. A joint press conference between the two leaders was canceled, the White House said.
