Senate Heroin and Opioid Task Force Member, Jack Martins believes the best way to prevent a drug addiction is by educating the community before the problem occurs. In this video the Senator, his colleagues, and community leaders determine the best preventative measures with the goal to develop into legislation.
During Senator Martins' mission to find solutions for families, he discovered that New York needed tools for law enforcement, education leaders and new treatment measures. The Senate Task Force developed and passed 25 bills. By the end of session 11 were agreed upon by all branches of government to become law in New York State.
