After recent elections, analysts noted that Republican voter turnout suffered when the party shifted focus away from every day "kitchen-table" issues like affordability, instead getting pulled into foreign identity-politics drama debates that many Americans don't feel in their daily lives. With consumer confidence and sentiment dipping, that arguably helped Democratic wins. But now, Republicans appear to be returning to the issues voters care about most: wallets and cost of living. Inflation has cooled to around 3% year-over-year, gas prices are down, wages are rising, and possible tariff refund checks are on the horizon.
