DHS Shutdown Raises Homeland Security Concerns After U.S. Strikes on Iran

As the Department of Homeland Security shutdown enters its third week, Republicans are urging Democrats to pass a funding package, arguing that homeland security agencies must be fully operational following recent U.S. strikes on Iran. The shutdown is impacting key components of national readiness — including the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the U.S. Coast Guard. House Judiciary Committee member Congressman Russell Fry, joins Alicia Summers to weighs in on whether the funding lapse increases risk to the homeland "especially right now," amid public debate about potential Iranian proxy activity or even sleeper networks inside the United States.
