About Len McCluskey: General Secretary of Unite since 2011. Described as the most powerful trade unionist in the country, McCluskey is an architect of the Union movement's 'victory' over New Labour despite having shifted his support in the Labour leadership race from Andy Burnham to Jeremy Corbyn. His relationship with Corbyn is one of restrained support; he has pledged support to the Party but nonetheless remains a vocal critic. He will talk on the subject of ideology, unity and progression within the political left.
ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY: The Oxford Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. Since 1823, the Union has been promoting debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.
