Dr Arthur Laffer is an American economist who gained prominence during the Reagan administration. He is best known for the Laffer curve, an economic theory that suggests governments can cut taxes and simultaneously increase revenue and economic growth. He was an economic advisor during Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and, in 2019, Trump awarded Laffer the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
