----------------------
I just bought a house in the Bay Area, and in this video, I share why I bought a house in the worst seller’s market I’ve ever seen and my insights as someone who has had quite a bit of real estate experience, having owned over 35 properties, run a mortgage company and been involved with hundreds of real estate transactions.
And then you can apply those insights to your own situation to help you build wealth and financial freedom and avoid some costly mistakes.
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area so this very much feels like home to me. My husband works in Silicon Valley and most of my family is here in this area so I prefer to stay here.
It looked like we might be getting priced further and further out of the Bay Area.
So we weighed our options…
Would we rather risk buying a house at the height of the market and then possibly seeing the value come crashing down?
Or would we rather risk being priced further and further out of the area?
We decided that we’d rather lock in our cost of living and know that we can stay in the Bay Area near most of our family and friends.
In terms of where I think the real estate market is going next, obviously, I don’t think the market is going to keep screaming upward like it has been.
But I don’t THINK we’re about to see a housing market crash like 2008 either.
There’s still high demand, low interest rates, and the cost of building materials has skyrocketed.
We just don't have enough housing right now, and new construction can’t keep up with the demand.
The people who are getting loans to buy homes now are highly qualified, unlike during the sub-prime lending crisis.
So I think that the market will calm down, but I don’t think we’re going to see prices come crashing down anytime soon.
That’s why I bought a house in the worst seller’s market I’ve ever seen and where I think the market is going from here.
