0:59Now PlayingMy law firm received important news today: an asylum interview was scheduled because of our mandamus lawsuit, even with the current pause on issuing asylum decisions. 📄 I believed all along that the pause wouldn’t stop a mandamus lawsuit from getting a stalled asylum case moving by forcing an interview. Today’s interview notice confirms that. ⚖️ It’s unclear whether we can also use mandamus to force a decision right now while the pause is still in place. I think there are strong arguments for it, and we have several of these cases pending, so we’ll get the chance to make that argument and see what judges think. We’ll keep you updated. 📬 For now, the good news is clear: you can still use mandamus to get your interview, and the sooner you get that interview, the better your chances in your underlying asylum case. To learn more, leave the word “mandamus” in the comments.
