If you move and don’t update your address, USCIS or the court will keep sending notices to your old home. If you miss an interview or hearing, there’s no forgiveness. ⚖️ If your case is with USCIS, file Form AR-11 online. Then download the confirmation and email it directly to your asylum office. Don’t assume the system works automatically. Sometimes that update never reaches the office handling your case. 😔 If your case is in immigration court, file Form EOIR-33 and send a copy to the ICE attorney. Both must be notified. Do all of this before you move to avoid any gap in communication. Also submit a mail forwarding request with USPS so any missed mail gets redirected. ✊ This process seems simple, but the consequences of getting it wrong are serious.
