52:14Now PlayingJill and Victor are joined by former Fox News Contributor and current CNN Political Analyst Kirsten Powers for a look at her journey to political journalism and how media has evolved into the combative and opinion based environment we have today. What led to the shift from fact centered reporting to hyperpartisanship? And how do we restore good faith and civility to our discourse?
Kirsten Powers is currently a columnist for USA Today and an on-air political analyst at CNN, where she appears regularly on Anderson Cooper 360, CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, and the Lead with Jake Tapper. She is also the author of a new book, “Saving Grace: Speak Your Truth, Stay Centered, and Learn to Coexist with People Who Drive You Nuts.” But, more importantly to our top, Kirsten previously appeared regularly on Fox News as a contributor known to be liberal. During her time at Fox, The Washington Post in an article titled, A Liberal Working for Fox News, called her “bright-eyed, sharp-tongued, and gamely combative” and Mediate called her “Fox’s liberal to be reckoned with.”
