Lorrie Moore discusses her book, "See What Can Be Done", at Politics and Prose on 4/9/18.

Lorrie Moore is one of America's most loved and admired fiction writers. Every one of her story collections, from Who Will Run the Frog Hospital? to Birds of America to Bark, is a literary event—and so is See What Can Be Done, her first-ever book of nonfiction. Moore is no stranger to the genre, though. She's been a leading critic for decades, writing regular essays for The New York Times Book Review, The New Yorker, The Guardian and more. From fiction reviews to deep-dives into prestige TV to the state of the Republican Party, this collection gives us a brilliant mind's view of the artistic, cultural, and political moments that have defined our country for the past thirty years.

LORRIE MOORE is the Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Professor of English at Vanderbilt University. She is the recipient of the Irish Times International Prize for Literature, a Lannan Foundation fellowship, as well as the PEN/Malamud Award and the Rea Award for her achievement in the short story. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
