He suggests that groups such as the Amish report virtually no autism, and calls for changes in how vaccines are administered, including spreading out doses and avoiding combination shots.
Perhaps the most controversial declaration came when Trump announced that the FDA would be warning doctors about the potential risks of acetaminophen (Tylenol) use during pregnancy, claiming it could be “associated with a very increased risk of autism.” While mainstream medical organisations, including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, continue to assert that acetaminophen is safe when used as directed, Trump insisted women should “tough it out” and avoid the drug unless absolutely necessary.
