Andy's been looking into Matthew Goodwin's new book over the weekend, and has some hefty claims about its author.

Fresh off his defeat in the Gorton and Denton by-election, Goodwin’s new release is put under the microscope, with Andy and Ava digging into a series of claims that simply don’t hold up. From questionable statistics about English language use in schools to references that appear to trace back to ChatGPT, the pair expose what is at the very least a lack of academic rigour.

Is this just careless scholarship, or something more concerning? Andy suggests it may be a case of AI “hallucinations” making their way into published work, and points out that even basic fact-checking seems to have been skipped.

The pair also highlight multiple misquotes, including a completely fabricated quote from Cicero. From Roger Scruton to Hayek, the pattern repeats.

How deep do the falsehoods go?
