In today’s episode of Figuring Out, we have Dr. Mandeep Singh Basu in conversation with Raj Shamani. He is the Director of India’s one of the leading Ayurvedic research and manufacturing company Jagat Pharma. He has over 15 years of experience with 13 years of specialized experience in Ayurvedic medicine as an eye specialist.
In this episode, we discussed why other doctors are against Ayurvedic medicines, how their eyedrop is different from other eyedrops, and how it helps in treating eye conditions like Moti Bindu (Cataract), Glaucoma, color blindness, and many other conditions. He then talked about how safe other eyedrops are in the market, the side effects of steroids-based eyedrops, and the causes of dryness, redness, and low vision. He then shared about how there is an increase in reduced vision in kids, and how dangerous it will become in the future.
We then talked about few habits that most of us are doing unknowingly which can increase our chances of becoming blind. We then discussed the pros and cons of contact lenses, how safe are lasik eye surgeries, which foods to eat for maintaining good care of our eyes, and more. Towards the end, he shared many myths about Ayurveda and its medicines, and different types of eye cancer and ended with sharing how much top Ayurvedic eye specialist doctors earn per month.
