Roger Morgan is an anti-drug activist determined to stop marijuana legalization in its tracks. And because of the anti-pot coalition's successful thwarting of California's Prop 19 in 2010, he believes that he's got a pretty good chance.

Morgan is spearheading the Stop Pot 2016 campaign, which sets up him and his group as the primary political opposition to the marijuana legalization initiative championed by Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom and Napster founder Sean Parker.

Morgan sat down with Reason TV's Zach Weissmueller to talk about his initiative, the Safe and Drug-Free Community Act, which aims to keep commercial marijuana illegal and to more heavily regulate the state’s marijuana laws. Topics discussed in this frequently contentious interview include what the science does and doesn't say about the effects of marijuana on the brain, the unintended consequences of prohibition, and what lessons California voters can draw from legalization of cannabis in states like Oregon and Colorado.
