The president was Stewart's TV guest seven times, but Stewart was a private guest to the White House, too. He got briefings and talking points. He was part of the administration's spin. This is only coming out now, of course, from Politico.
Stewart and his fans kid themselves that the Daily Show was "satire," "speaking truth to power." But Jon Stewart was nothing more than Obama's house pet, a "government comedian."
