4:05Now PlayingSheila Gunn Reid of TheRebel.Media asks, what happens when a Conservative candidate skips a small time local debate?
Well, the media whips a small local public interest story into part of the national election narrative.
What happens when a Liberal candidate skips a debate? Nothing, even when they skip a debate that the CBC has a camera crew at. It happened last night in Calgary Nosehill.
Local debates have become a story, not because the undecided voters debates are meant to woo care, but because the media wants us to care. I don’t.
It’s just more of the same old same old. The media is telling us what we should care about and making sure we only hear what they want us to hear.
As the saying goes: if its not a Tory, its not a story.
