3:31Now PlayingSheila Gunn Reid of TheRebel.Media reports, Bob Hawkesworth, failed NDP candidate, got a plum patronage appointment over the weekend.
He was appointed to run the MacDougall Center. The MacDougall center is the Alberta Government's Southern Alberta Office. It's supposed to be non partisan not a soft feather bed for friends of the NDP to "fail" into. But here we have Hawkesworth, a man who was an NDP candidate twice this year, getting the cushy job in the bureaucracy on a Saturday morning.
This sounds a lot like the cronyism that Albertans thought they'd voted out when they finally booted the Progressive Conservatives out of office. Appointing Hawkesworth is the sort of golden handshake the former PC government was famous for.
But it took the PC's four decades to get to this level of cronyism. Rachel Notley's NDP has invented turbo cronyism!
The only job creation program the NDP has authored so far is the one that gives patronage appointments to friends and partisans.
