The new MP from Winnipeg, Robert Falcon Oulette, was running to be the Speaker of the House of Commons. He actually said he was running because the job would give him “great influence” with the prime minister.
He just dropped out of the race. Not because he didn’t mean what he said. He just shouldn’t have said it in public.
