David Menzies of TheRebel.Media reports:
An award winning, student favourite Laurentian University Professor has been removed from teaching an introductory psychology class for requesting that students sign a waiver agreeing to his use of vulgar language.
It isn’t as if Psychology Professor Michael Persinger has a gratuitous potty mouth. He was teaching a course on the effect of language which of course would include naughty words. How can you teach a course on the psychological effect of naughty language unless you use some naughty language by way of example?
In trying to give sensitive students a heads up and a chance to remove themselves from the class, he was instead removed by an apparently overly sensitive superior who relates more to a little bubble-wrapped psych student than the adult who is trying to instil knowledge and prepare students for the real world.
I can hardly wait to see how members of this current generation will function once they graduate to reality - that place where there are no student councils and no university provosts to complain to.
Good luck kids, and good luck world!
