I’ve watched as the Democratic Party has strayed from many of the values that my family has stood for. Today, it’s controlled by big corporations and the military-industrial complex. In the early days of my campaign, I felt that my job was to bring the party back to its natal values. But the Democratic Party no longer seems to have room for someone like me: a candidate who will eradicate the corrupt merger of state and corporate power that now controls both political parties. That’s why I’m running as an independent.
