How do these drugs affect anesthesia?
Under general anesthesia, your muscles relax and you lose protective airway reflexes. Having food in your stomach increases the risk of aspiration, where stomach contents enter your lungs. Rapid weight‑loss drugs delay stomach emptying, so even if you stop eating eight hours before surgery, your stomach may still be full
