11:13Now PlayingA group of conservatives and Sen. Tim Scott are having a war of words over Thomas Farr's judicial nomination. If you remember it was Sen. Scott who sunk Farr's nomination a year ago over his record on race.
It appears that members of the right are attempting to revive Farr's judicial nomination with their recent letter saying that Scott joined "with those who taunt every political opponent a 'racist' as a partisan political tactic to destroy their reputations is not helpful to the cause of reconciliation."
Scott fired back in a letter of his own saying, "For some reason the authors of this letter choose to ignore ... facts, and instead implicate that I have been co-opted by the left and am incapable of my own decision making.
"Why they have chosen to expend so much energy on this particular nomination I do not know, but what I do know is they have not spent anywhere near as much time on true racial reconciliation efforts, decrying comments by those like (Republican U.S. Rep.) Steve King, or working to move our party together towards a stronger, more unified future."
Kristen D. Clarke, President of the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law spoke with Roland Martin about why appointing Farr to the federal bench for a lifetime appointment is a very bad idea.
