6:53Now PlayingRoland Martin spoke with Tiffany D. Loftin during Friday's edition of #RolandMartinUnfiltered about Donald Trump proposing massive cuts to education in his 2020 budget.
Loftin blasted Trump and his Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos for their plans to defund education saying, "That entire cycle is intentional ... the effort that they have to increase mass incarceration, prisons in this country and the national defense and not provide support for access and affordability for higher education -- for K-12 is not surprising."
Loftin also offered a glimmer of hope to those who see the devastating cycle being set up by Trump and his enablers. She said, the people "have the power to make the change ... it is up to us to push back [and] to speak up to school board meetings ..."
