11:06Now PlayingThe first known pictures of African slaves in America are the subject of a new lawsuit filed by the slaves' descendant against Harvard University. The photographs were commissioned by a racist Harvard professor trying to use biology to justify slavery.
Tamara Lanier, a descendant of one of the slaves depicted in photos says Harvard has exploited those images for money and she wants them back and damages for what she calls the continued enslavement of her ancestors identified as Renty and his daughter, Delia.
Lenier and her attorney Benjamin Crump spoke with Roland Martin during Wednesday's edition of #RolandMartinUnfiltered about the lawsuit filed against Harvard University.
