Americans now owe more than 1.5 trillion dollars in student loan debt. That's more than we owe on our cars, credit cards and second only to mortgage debt.
An April 2019 report from the Wall Street Journal showed that the median HBCU alumni held roughly $29,000 in student debt by the time they graduated. That's 32 percent higher than the median for students from other four-year schools.
Are graduates getting out of their college degrees what they're putting in and are there alternative ways to pursue their dreams without going so deeply into debt?
