For The First Time Ever Black Youth Suicide Has Surpassed That Of White Children, But Why?

For the first time in history, the rate of suicide by young Black children between ages 5 and 12 has surpassed that of white children.

According to the Journal of American Medical Association Pediatrics, Black boys are at even greater risk due to factors like racism, depression, and exposure to violence.

Jan Desper Peters, Executive Director of the Black Mental Health Alliance spoke with Roland Martin during Thursday's edition of #RolandMartinUnfiltered about this troubling phenomenon.
