A former Baltimore Police officer has been convicted in the assault of man last year. The Judge convicted Arthur Williams of second-degree assault and misconduct and not guilty of the more serious charge of first-degree assault.
Williams' sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 9. He faces 10 years for the second-degree assault charge. The judge can give any penalty that's not cruel and unusual
The officer resigned after the video of the assault went viral.
