Tuesday was election day in North Carolina. Democratic Dan McCready battled Republican Mark Harris in a special election that stemmed from their 2018 election being deemed invalid.

Their 2018 race was marred with Republican backed absentee ballot fraud. But why do Republicans have to turn to voter suppression tactics to win elections? Why does the GOP embrace voter suppression?

Cynthia Wallace, Chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party in District 9 spoke with Roland Martin during Tuesday's edition of #RolandMartinUnfiltered about the special election. Roland also battled panelist Melik Abdul over the GOP's willingness to suppress the vote of African Americans.
