12:16Now PlayingTennessee's State Capitol Commission voted on Thursday to remove a bust of Confederate Lt. Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest that currently resides outside of the House and Senate chambers.
The vote was 9-2 to remove the Forrest bust. Despite initially intending only to vote on the removal of Forrest's bust, the commission also voted in support of removing busts of U.S. Admiral David Farragut, a leader in the Union Navy during the Civil War, and U.S. Admiral Albert Gleaves, who served during the Spanish-American War and World War I.
The vote now goes on to the Tennessee Historical Commission.
