19:27Now PlayingThere have been nearly 3,800 acts of hate crimes against Asian-Americans since March of last year, according to a report recently released by the Stop Asian-American Pacific Islanders Hate organization. While a motive has not been confirmed, many believe anti-asian bigotry was behind the killing spree that occurred in Georgia on Tuesday where 21 year old Robert Long murdered eight people at three massage parlors. Six of the victims were Asian women.
Many activists believe the spike in attacks against Asians was ignited by Donald Trump's racist rhetoric regarding the origins of the coronavirus.
Several members of congress have addressed the incident in Georgia.
