Astoundingly Stupid: TX Gov. Greg Abbott Defends Abortion Ban, Vows To ‘Eliminate All Rapists’

During the signing of Texas' controversial abortion bill, Governor Abbott was asked about rape victims and how the state's new abortion law affects them.

Abbott said, “Let’s be clear rape is a crime ... And Texas will work tirelessly to make sure that we eliminate all rapists from the streets of Texas by aggressively going out and arresting them and prosecuting them and getting them off the streets.” []

In response to one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the nation, Attorney General Merrick Garland said the Justice Department would enforce the freedom of access to clinic entrances act, also known as The Face Act.

The federal law prohibits making threats against patients and providers of reproductive health services.

It also makes it a felony to obstruct clinic entrances or damage property physically.

In response to the bill, Human Rights groups across the nation have proposed boycotts on any goods that come out of Texas.

Friday, a Texas judge temporarily blocked Anti-Abortion Groups from filing lawsuits against Planned parenthood.
