Conservatives want to ban it from classrooms across the country - even though it's not actually taught in grade or high schools.
Right now, there are eight states who have banned the teaching of the concept:
Idaho, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Iowa, New Hampshire, Arizona, and South Carolina.
About 20 other states have introduced legislation that would restrict or eliminate it in schools.
The origins of the anti-critical race theory movement are unclear. A team of researchers discovered billionaire Koch brothers were funding research and campaigns against Critical Race Theory. The UnKoch Campus team has done extensive research on how this divisive campaign intentionally spread like wildfire.
Jasmine Banks, Executive Director of UnKoch My Campus spoke with Roland Martin on Tuesday about the Koch Network's influence on the current political climate.
