10:56Now PlayingA Texas man who made national headlines got his voter fraud charges dropped last week.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed two counts of illegal voting charges against 60-year-old Hervis Rogers for voting while on parole in 2020. In Texas, people knowingly voting while on parole or probation is a second-degree felony. A Texas District court judge dismissed the charges because the attorney general can't prosecute election crimes unilaterally. Rogers said he wasn't aware of his ineligibility to vote, thus waiting 6 hours to cast his Ballot.
Rogers is not alone because 72-percent of all voter fraud charges brought by Paxton are against people of color.
