Republican Michael Steele, who chaired the RNC between 2009 and 2011, tweeted this about the racial makeup of judges appointed by presidents dating back to Jimmy Carter.
Currently, people of color make up 40-percent of the nation's population.
People of color make up 30-percent of federal judges.
Women make up roughly half of the population, but less than 37-percent are active Article III judges.
Additionally, only 37 federal judges out of the current 870 total are former civil rights advocates.
