Trotter, who is Black, was employed by the league for five years and spoke publicly and privately multiple times about the NFL's diversity issues--included in those conversations about the lack of Black head coaches and executives at the NFL Network.
Earlier this year, before the Super Bowl. Trotter asked Commissioner Roger Goodell at a televised press conference about the NFL Network's issue, and he found that his contract was not renewed months later.
