WTH?!? Black Mom At Risk Of Losing Custody Of Kids Af Cop Shot Her 11-Year-Old Son | Roland Martin

On May 20, 2023, Aderrien Murry's life changed drastically when Indianola, Mississippi, Police Officer Greg Capers shot the then 11-year-old in the chest while responding to a domestic disturbance call.

It was bad enough that Capers did not face any charges related to shooting Aderrien. Next week, Aderrien's mother, Nakayla, will be before a judge on child neglect charges as a result of the May incident.

"Count 1: That on or about 05/20/2023, in SUNFLOWER COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AUBURNEE MURRY, did become a NEGLECTED CHILD as defined by § 43-21-105(1) of the Mississippi Code of 1972, Annotated. Per reporter a child (Aderrien Murry) got hurt because of the domestic violence between the mother, Nakala Murry and her boyfriend John Nolden. On Saturday, May 20, 2023, John jumped on Nakala.  Nakala called her family member and they called the police. The police went over to the home. Somebody came running out of the home and the police shot. The reporter was unsure if the police thought it was John. The reporter stated this was a result of the mother and boyfriend domestic violence that have been happening for years. John assaults the mother in front of the kids. The reporter wanted someone to check on the children because something worse can happen next time."
