Mike Johnson told Republicans that losing the midterms would turn congressional committees into investigative bodies aimed at Trump’s family, cabinet, donors, and friends. He said he runs a “protection program,” a line Roland Martin and the guests treated as proof that Trump’s circle is terrified of oversight. The discussion calls for Congress to investigate alleged corruption, pay-to-play dealings, stock trades, pardons, and decisions involving Trump allies if Democrats regain control. The message is direct: congressional oversight is supposed to uncover wrongdoing, not protect powerful people from scrutiny.
