Rep. Jasmine Crockett came into the House Judiciary hearing ready to do more than trade talking points. She said Republicans are holding another "great replacement theory therapy session" while ignoring a deadly crisis unfolding in ICE detention facilities. Crockett's central argument was simple and devastating: private detention companies like GEO Group spend millions to help elect Republicans, and in return they receive federal contracts while people allegedly die in their facilities under inhumane conditions.

Crockett repeatedly returned to the deaths and abuse. She said more than 40 people have died in ICE custody and accused Republicans of refusing to confront the human consequences. She also condemned the absence of witnesses from ICE, CBP, DOJ and the White House, arguing that the people with direct responsibility were nowhere to be found even as lawmakers discussed life-and-death conditions in detention.

The hearing also expanded into a broader attack on how the Trump administration and its allies handle oversight. Crockett said Todd Blanche is prosecuting Rep. LaMonica McIver instead of going after DHS and GEO officials, and she argued that he is acting on behalf of Donald Trump rather than the American people. She contrasted the aggressive targeting of Black and brown immigrants and lawmakers with the way white power and political influence are repeatedly protected.

Roland Martin and the Roland Martin Unfiltered panel underscored the larger stakes by arguing that this is not just about immigration policy. It is about profit, racial targeting, abuse in custody and whether the government is allowing death and mistreatment to continue while politically connected contractors cash in. The segment lands as a scorching indictment of Republican priorities, private detention money and a system Crockett says is hiding the truth while people die.
