This milestone is not only a celebration of our nation's resilience but also an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable strides we have made in healthcare while acknowledging the work that still lies ahead.
Guided by this year’s theme, “Douvan Ansanm: “Health and Wellbeing for a Prosperous Nation”, we reaffirm our commitment to unity, collaboration, and collective action in strengthening the health and well-being of our people. The Ministry of Health remains steadfast in its mission to expand Universal Health Coverage (UHC), ensuring that more essential services are available to the public at no out-of-pocket cost. Most recently, we have enhanced our healthcare offerings with the addition of cervical and prostate examinations, as well as snake bite treatment critical steps towards a more inclusive and responsive healthcare system.
True to the spirit of Douvan Ansanm: “Health and Wellbeing for a Prosperous Nation”, we continue to champion wellness and preventive care through initiatives such as Saint Lucia Moves, which encourages physical activity and healthy living through strong partnerships with stakeholders and communities.
Our journey toward a healthier Saint Lucia is ongoing, and it requires all of us moving forward together embracing healthier lifestyles, fostering community spirit, and strengthening our healthcare infrastructure.
