as posted by the channelSam Seder reads an IM that a listener has written asking about a conspiracy theory that combines a bunch of conspiracy theories together. It’s a lot, TBH. Matt Lech cuts through the drama, as he’s been known to do, and points out that when it comes to the “lab leak” theory, it’s just a theory that the Covid-19 virus outbreak originated from an accidental “leak” (an accidental exposure to the public of some kind). It’s not a wild and crazy theory, because it’s based on the fact that there does exist a laboratory, the Wuhan Institute, that has a collection of SARS-like viruses.
Sam goes on to say that everyone is really exploiting this for whatever their purposes may be: anti-Chinese sentiment or anti-science sentiment. Both sentiments are radically and tremendously stupid.
