Matt from Michigan calls in to talk about a Tucker Carlson segment he saw that was demonizing a Chinese company that is planning to build a battery factory in his town. The factory would provide 2,300 jobs to an area with 26% poverty rate.

So I just wanted to call about a segment that I was subjected to yesterday on Tucker Carlson of him speaking with our gubernatorial candidate Phil's gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon. And I come from the north not quite the up but there's a large battery Factory being built in Big Rapids Michigan. same town as my alma mater. and this segment had them freaking out because it has ties to China. when it would bring 2,300 jobs to a very poor area. where I'm from, the poverty rate is 26. wow. and it has a 10 000 people population just kind of in that general area. so it just kills me to see my community shoot itself in the foot and try to rebel against 2 300 jobs coming to a very small area. yeah I mean you know I can't tell you how like in the 80s it was like it was all about the Japanese buying up everything in this country. and it was like it I mean you know this is part of like a larger part of the problem right? I mean this is one of the problems associated there. We live in a society and maybe all societies need this on some level. where there is an enemy that is created right? an outside enemy. and we it has not been useful or it has run its course for the time being that there is this massive Threat by Islam. I mean it was only 10 years ago when it was just a question of time before you know 1.6 billion Muslims are going to take over this country. and I mean it's amazing. Sharia law. Anthony you know here's the thing and maybe it was 10 years ago there was like state after state after State everything that we're seeing with trans people we saw with Sharia law. but it didn't I will say this it is escalated far more with anti-trans legislation. and it really is inhibiting the lives and hurt and having a more material impact on trans people because there was no there was nobody in the country trying to set up like small caliphates in you know Indiana where they would practice Sharia law. that wasn't happening. It was complete fiction. The reality is we have trans people in this country and all this anti-trans legislation is having material harm to people and families. But you know this is like cycling through a new series of enemies that are created largely from Whole cloth really ultimately for the benefit of Corporations and for you know Financial interests that aren't even necessarily that that isn't necessarily and quite often are not anything that is going to benefit or hurt people across the country.
