24:42Now PlayingPresident Biden's approval rating is showing signs of improvement as he heads into the 2024 presidential contest, with more Democrats supporting his re-election bid compared to a year ago, according to a New York Times/Siena College poll. While Democrats have largely accepted him as their standard-bearer, his approval rating remains at 39 percent, and he is still broadly unpopular among the voting public, which is pessimistic about the country's future. Of concern to Democrats is the fact that in a hypothetical rematch with former President Donald J. Trump in 2024, Biden and Trump are tied at 43 percent each. Biden's support among Democrats appears to be less enthusiastic, with many hoping for someone else to be nominated. Vice President Kamala Harris, on the other hand, has garnered more enthusiasm from Democrats as a potential 2024 nominee.
