Nihan's Story: How A Child's Heart Surgery Changed An Entire Family

In El Alto, Bolivia, five-year-old Nihan is inseparable from her older brother, Reynaldo, as their warmth and goodwill bring joy to the rest of their family. When Nihan was diagnosed with a heart murmur, Nihan's life was in jeopardy, and her family fell into despair as they did not have access to the pediatric cardiological care that could heal Nihan's heart. The lack of hope for Nihan would eventually cause her mom, Yudith, to lose her faith, and caused her to stop attending church. The door of hope would be opened, however, when Nihan's family was introduced to Samaritan's Purse and their Children's Heart Project, and Nihan was sent to a hospital in Grand Cayman to receive the surgery that healed her heart. Nihan's family would return to God as they prayed every night for Nihan's health and safety while they waited for her to return home. When Yudith saw her prayers get answered as Nihan began to live everyday life, Yudith returned to the church and rededicated her life to the Lord after seeing His love in action.
