1:48Now PlayingSenate Democrats were joined today by health care advocates to welcome Melanie's Marchers to the U.S. Capitol this afternoon. The participants in this walk will have traveled 135 miles from Philadelphia to Washington, DC to highlight the urgent need for comprehensive health care reform. The march is named for Missouri resident Melanie Shouse who passed away January 30th after a long battle with breast cancer. Her insurance company denied her critical treatment for her illness. Melanie was a fierce advocate for comprehensive health care reform. "The last couple of months have been difficult, but we are determined." said Sen. Chris Dodd. "After tomorrow's health care meeting at the White House, you can either join us or get out of the way because we are going to get national health care done."
