More than one million Americans will lose their unemployment insurance and health benefits by the end of this weekend if Bunning does not withdraw his objection. "We have the ability right now to extend [these benefits] for just a short time until we work out a longer-term solution. It is irresponsible not to. It is immoral," said Reid.
