Mar 13, 201425:41Now PlayingSenator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chairman of the Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), held a press conference Thursday, March 13th with nurses from across the United States to describe the harmful health implications associated with tar sands oil and the proposed Keystone XL pipeline, as well as their plans for further action. On February 26th, Senators Boxer and Whitehouse (D-RI) called on Secretary of State John Kerry and the Obama Administration to analyze the public health risks to communities from the proposed Keystone pipeline.
Senator Boxer was joined by nurses from hospitals in areas affected by tar sands and the proposed pipeline, who described the health symptoms experienced by their patients and their plans for future actions.
