5:13Now PlayingU.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) on March 29, 2023, participated in a hearing of the Senate Committee on Appropriations' Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies regarding the Biden Administration's Fiscal Year 2024 budget proposal for the Department of the Interior.
Senator Britt questioned Interior Secretary Deb Haaland regarding the Administration's unacceptable, unexplained delays in processing Tuscaloosa County-based Warrior Met Coal's application to develop 24 million tons of met coal in Alabama. The bureaucratic stonewalling is jeopardizing high-paying 21st century jobs in the state, damaging Alabama's economy, and keeping hundreds of millions of dollars out of U.S. government coffers.
