7:09Now PlayingOn the Senate floor, Senator Murray called for a vote on her emergency paid sick days bill with U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro in the House.
The bill would require all employers to allow workers to accrue 7 days of paid sick leave and to provide an additional 14 days available immediately in the event of any public health emergency, including the current coronavirus crisis. While Senator Murray has long pressed for paid sick leave, the continued community transmission of coronavirus has highlighted the urgent need to pass paid sick leave legislation immediately.
Senator Murray called for unanimous consent to hold a Senate vote on the bill.
