He spoke to the Sun's Tom Newton Dunn, telling him some of the other eleven candidates had reached out.
Mr Dunn said he believes the comments made will not make a difference to the leadership race to become Prime Minister.
He added that one thing he found important was that President Trump seemed in 'denial' over the street protests being organised for his state visit.
